I wrote this song while hugging a tree, waiting for the bus at 4th Avenue & 7th Street.
It was just after I got done with my internship for the day. I was feeling euphoric, and glad to be alive that day, when I noticed a bunch of trees.
What are trees doing in downtown? That's just kind of crazy. Actually, it's all of the way crazy.
It inspired me enough to want to write a song about trees, and how nice they look in the world. Though I wound up concentrating more on the fact that I've made the tree I was hugging mine.
Pretend that I'm a metaphor for all of humanity, because trees do belong to all of humanity. All of humanity was waiting for a bus too, apparently.
